Alaska State Fair announces first round of Concert Series performers
The Alaska State Fair has announced four of the acts performing as part of this year's Concert Series.
A cappella country vocalists Home Free will perform on Thursday, Aug. 22. The group has been to Alaska before; they performed at the Alaska State Fair in 2017. The group gained notoriety after winning the TV show "The Sing-Off" in 2013 and has released several albums since.
Shinedown, a multi-platinum rock band, will play on Friday, Aug. 23. The Florida rockers have had two No. 1 hits from their last album, "Attention Attention."
Modern country star Dustin Lynch is playing at the fair on Saturday, Aug. 24. All three of Lynch's albums have debuted at either No. 1 or No. 2 on the Billboard country charts, where he's also had six songs hit No. 1. That includes his latest hit, "Good Girl."
On Wednesday, Aug. 28, soul and rock band Tower of Power will be performing. The Oakland brass band celebrated 50 years of performing last year with the re-release of "Soul Side of Town." The group has released more than twenty albums over their career.
The 2019 Alaska State Fair runs from Thursday, Aug 22 to Monday, Sep 2. Tickets for concerts go on sale on the last Friday of this month, March 29, at 10 a.m. and will be available on the fair's website. All of the concerts will be held at the ConocoPhillips Borealis Theatre on the fairgrounds.
