Iditarod musher Cindy Abbott scratches at halfway mark
Veteran Iditarod musher Cindy Abbott, bib No. 16, of Willow scratched at 10:45 p.m. Saturday at the Iditarod checkpoint.
According to a release from the Iditarod, Abott scratched due to "personal health reasons" and her concerns about taking care of her race team, which she says is her first priority.
She had 14 dogs in harness at the time she made the decision to scratch.
