The 84th annual Fur Rendezvous kicks off Friday, Feb. 22, and to accommodate some of the events downtown, Anchorage police will be closing several roads in the area.

From Thursday night through Sunday, Fourth Avenue between H Street and C Street will be closed to drivers.

Beginning Friday through Sunday, portions of Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Avenues will be blocked, as well as from H Street to Eagle Street. Cars parked within these areas during the closure time will be towed.

Drivers should also watch for additional no parking signs on West Fifth and Sixth Avenues and side streets between K Street and Eagle Street.

Anchorage Police Department officers will be on traffic control during events like the Frostbite Footrace and the Grand Parade to help with directional instructions.
