The man Anchorage police arrested Friday on charges of robbery and assault after reportedly striking a woman and stealing her purse won't be facing those charges, an update from the Anchorage District Attorney's office said.

Ramon A. Eusebio, 28, was accused of assaulting a woman who was walking to her room at the Barratt Inn.

She told police he accused her of having someone else's phone, attempted to pull her purse off of her shoulder, struck her twice in the face and pushed her to the ground, a release from the Anchorage Police Department stated Tuesday.

"It has been declined by our office due to evidentiary issues," Assistant District Attorney Zachary Armfield said.

Armfield said charges will not be filed.
