APD names man killed in Turnagain 'isolated incident'
Anchorage police are investigating a shooting which left a man dead in the Turnagain area.
Police identified the deceased Feb. 25 as Brian F. Wetmore, 42, after his next of kin were notified.
"The circumstances surrounding Wetmore's death are still under investigation," police wrote. "No further details are being released at this time."
Police were initially called just before 1 p.m. Feb. 16 to a residence on the 3000 block of Wendy’s Way. Wetmore had suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital, where he was declared dead soon afterward.
On the afternoon of the shooting, several police officers were examining an apartment on Wendy's Way. They declined to answer questions.
“Initial indications are that this is an isolated incident and officers have made contact with everyone involved,” police wrote. ”The circumstances under which the male was shot are still being determined/investigated.”
