The South Anchorage High School Wolverines capped off their season with a 6-3 victory over the Service High School Cougars Saturday night. That gave South Anchorage its first ASAA First National Cup Division I state championship since 2014 at Wasilla's Menard Sports Center.
Service trailed 5-3 in the third, before Wolverines' senior captain Nicholas Corbin scored his third goal of the night.
"Forever experience I'm going to remember for the rest of my life, to do it with these boys I call my family, it's the best thing that could ever happen," he said.
The game marked the fourth straight year two Anchorage teams competed in the state title game. South finished the season 23-1-0.
