APD: Fire at Midtown hotel construction site now arson
Anchorage police are looking for two persons of interest in a Midtown hotel construction site fire that is now an arson investigation.
Detectives believe the pair might have information about the Jan. 26 two-alarm fire at a partly built Midtown hotel, according to a release sent by the Anchorage Police Department Wednesday.
When firefighters first arrived on the scene around 5:10 a.m., APD said they "began an aggressive fire attack on the multistory structure which rapidly became engulfed."
The only injuries reported were that of a firefighter who was transported to a local hospital for a minor heat-related injury.
APD says the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
Anyone with information about the two persons of interest or the investigation are asked to call dispatch at 311 or Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP.
