Filing for office in regular municipal election is over
The deadline for candidates to file to run in the April 2 municipal election has passed at 5 p.m. on Friday evening.
There are five seats in play on this year's ballot: three on the Anchorage Assembly and two spots on the Anchorage School Board.
Two Assembly incumbents — Forrest Dunbar who represents East Anchorage and John Weddleton who represents South Anchorage — are running unopposed.
The April 2, 2019 Regular Municipal Election is a vote-by-mail election. Qualified registered voters will be mailed a ballot package 21 days before Election Day.
