The Anchorage Assembly has unanimously approved placing Anchorage’s $59 million school bond package before local voters.

An 11-0 Assembly vote on the measure came just before 7 p.m. Tuesday. The bond package, which originally included $55 million, rose by $4 million after the Anchorage School Board recently passed a resolution adding funds for repairs stemming from the Nov. 30 magnitude 7.0 earthquake which rattled the region.

Anchorage residents will have the final say on the school bond during this year’s vote-by-mail municipal election on April 2.
