Workforce Wednesday: 'Dashers' needed to deliver food in Anchorage
DoorDash's debut in Anchorage has been a tremendous hit so far, according to the logistics company that offers food delivery services.
According to company representatives, DoorDash experienced a "record-breaking" spike in deliveries during their first week of operation in Alaska's largest city. With the Anchorage market now in the fold, DoorDash is operating in all 50 states.
From fast food to local upscale fare, DoorDash facilitates the ability to order off the menu from a smartphone and have the food delivered, a service which relies on "Dashers" who deliver the food.
DoorDash says it's are always looking for Dashers, independent contractors who have the flexibility to work on their own schedule. The company is accepting applications on its website.
DoorDash is planning to launch its services in Wasilla, Palmer, Fairbanks, and other select Alaska communities by the end of 2019.
