AST: Anchorage woman dies after head-on collision in Palmer
Alaska State Troopers are investigating after a head-on collision in Palmer involving three vehicles left one Anchorage woman dead.
Troopers and Central EMS responded to the collision near the intersection of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Cottonwood Creek Circle just after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, a dispatch from the department stated.
All three drivers and one passenger were transported to the hospital. One of the drivers, Vinitchai Hollenbeck, 75, died as a result of her injuries at Mat-Su Regional Hospital.
"All parties involved were wearing seat belts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the motor vehicle collision," the dispatch stated. "Injuries sustained by the other parties are considered non-life threatening."
Hollenbeck's family has been notified. Troopers say the investigation is ongoing.
