The Anchorage Police Department has issued a warrant for Patrick Tillmon, Jr., 27, in connection with a search that involved the SWAT team. He faces multiple charges. He is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 280 pounds. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

Police called off a SWAT Team search after six hours, looking for a suspect who shot a gun and fled after seeing officers.

Members of APD's SWAT team conducted a search on the 1100 block of Gambell Street around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday night.

"After talking with witnesses, they spotted the suspect on foot," police wrote. "The suspect fired his weapon and fled. Due to the suspect’s behavior, SWAT was activated to conduct the search."

A "large police presence" was in the area and residents were asked to stay indoors.

Just after 3 a.m. police sent out another Nixle alert saying they had called off the search.

"After an extensive search, officers were unable to locate the suspect and have cleared the area," police wrote.

During the search, two people, not connected to this investigation, were taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
