Chugach Electric crews repaired two West Anchorage power outages Wednesday night.

According to information on Chugach’s Facebook page, initial reports of the first outage arrived Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of Turnagain Boulevard and Spenard Road. That outage initially affected about 800 customers, but was down to roughly 140 people by 7:15 p.m. It was fixed about an hour later.

“That is due to a failed cutout,” Chugach officials wrote.

A second outage, in the vicinity of Jewel Lake and Raspberry roads, affected about 800 people but had been repaired by 7:15 p.m. That outage was tracked back to a damaged switch cabinet.
