Southeast Alaska sees widespread king salmon closures
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has announced additional king salmon fishing restrictions for several areas of Southeast Alaska.
Those regions include the majority of marine waters in the Juneau, Ketchikan, Petersburg and Wrangell areas as well as much of the Haines-Skagway area.
Any king salmon caught in the closed areas must be released and returned to the water. Biologists with Fish and Game say king salmon production in these areas have been low.
For specifics on these closures and for how long they last contact your local Fish and Game office.
