Suspect charged in Wasilla New Year’s Eve burglary
Alaska State Troopers have arrested a 24-year-old man accused of threatening and fighting residents of a Wasilla home during a New Year’s Eve burglary.
Alaska State Troopers with Palmer’s Criminal Suppression Unit arrested Adam K.N. Drew Friday on burglary, assault and robbery charges in the case, according to an updated dispatch.
A report of a burglary in progress sent troopers to the Birdsell Drive home at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, where they learned that the victims had been confronted by a male break-in suspect. After an altercation, the suspect jumped out of a second-story window and ran away.
Troopers say Drew had been on probation for a burglary count stemming from a previous robbery charge in 2015.
“Drew was currently serving five days for a parole violation after CSU assisted Palmer Probations with his arrest for the parole violation on [Thursday],” troopers wrote.
Troopers said Drew was held at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on the new charges.
