Alaska State Troopers say an Anchorage man crashed his vehicle into a guardrail after driving intoxicated on Christmas.

AST responded to the single-vehicle accident just after 11:00 p.m. on the Glenn/Parks Highway interchange in Palmer. According to a dispatch released on Wednesday, the driver, identified as Glenn A. Shier, 59, suffered from minor injuries as a result of the crash.

"After being treated for a minor cut, Shier was arrested for DUI and Misconduct Weapons 4 and transported to Mat-Su pretrial to be released when sober," AST said in the dispatch.

The release said Shier's blood alcohol concentration was measured at .272, over three times the legal limit, more than two hours after the crash.
