Utility crews are responding Tuesday night to a water line break along Boniface Parkway near the Glenn Highway, asking people to avoid the scene as they repair the problem.

Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility officials said the break occurred on Boniface between the Glenn and Camelot Drive, just north of East 4th Avenue.

An AWWU spokesperson said shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday that there wasn't yet an update on how many customers were affected by the break, or how long they would be without service.

"We don't know how long the water will be off because we don't know what we're dealing with," the spokesperson said.

KTVA viewer Randy Akers recorded video of the break shortly before 5 p.m.
