USGS: 4.8 magnitude aftershock registered near Big Lake
A 4.8 magnitude aftershock was felt throughout Anchorage early Sunday morning.
The quake was registered around six miles SE of Big Lake at a depth of almost 12.5 miles, according to USGS. It struck just after 10:00 a.m.
Some KTVA viewers said the quake woke them up. Many said they felt the rumble of the lesser magnitude aftershocks that followed.
According to USGS, there have been at least three aftershocks since the 4.8. — a 2.5, 2.6 and 3.8 — two of which also struck near Big Lake.
