Governor-elect Mike Dunleavy is adding to his cabinet, announcing the appointment of two new members in a Thursday news release.

Bruce Tangerman, the current policy director for the Alaska Senate Majority, will serve as Commissioner of Revenue and Julie Anderson, the current principal at Denali Management Solutions, will be the new Commissioner of Commerce, Community and Economic Development.

Tangerman earned a bachelor's degree in public finance from Indiana University and has served on the boards for the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation and the Alaska Energy Authority. Other roles he's held in the past include vice president and chief financial officer for the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation, deputy commissioner at the Department of Revenue, chief financial officer at Doyon Utilities and corporate budget officer at the Alaska Railroad Corporation.

Anderson has held several positions at Alyeska Pipeline, including technical business strategy manager, commercial director and operations support director. She also served on Alyeska's Alaska Native Advisory Board and was on the boards of directors for both the Doyon Foundation and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.

Anderson earned a master’s degree in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

“Bruce and Julie are well known in Alaska for years of service in both the public and private sectors,” Dunleavy said. “Their talents and experience will provide crucial expertise to my administration as we move Alaska forward.”
