Alaska State Troopers say a person was found dead Monday in a Mat-Su ditch, after an apparent vehicle-pedestrian collision.

Troopers identified the victim as 33-year-old Tammy Mclinn of Wasilla.

According to an email from troopers spokesman Tim DeSpain, troopers responding to reports of a pedestrian in a ditch off Vine Road near West Appalachian Avenue at about 9:25 a.m. Monday found a "deceased individual that appears to have been struck by a vehicle."

"The northbound lane of Vine Road is blocked and traffic is being routed to one lane while troopers are investigating," DeSpain wrote.

Troopers are looking for a '90s model Chevy truck or SUV they believe struck Mclinn who was walking on the side of the road.

Anyone with information on this hit-and-run is asked to call AST dispatch at 907-352-5401.
