Anchorage police have identified the woman who died nearly a week after she was shot in front of a Mountain View home.

Police say 23-year-old Jenna DelKittie was one of the two women who was shot multiple times on Oct. 28. Police said they are investigating the shooting as a homicide after she passed away from her injuries on Saturday morning.

Around 2:40 a.m. on Oct. 28, police say they responded to reports of a shooting on the 4200 block of Mountain View Drive. When officers arrived, they found two women with gunshot wounds to the upper body — one with life-threatening injuries and the other with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the women were outside the residence when the unknown suspect in a dark-colored sedan fired multiple shots in their direction and then fled the scene.

Further investigation led police to believe the shooting was isolated and said there is no threat to the public.

No other information is immediately known, including additional suspect details. The victim's name is being held until next-of-kin is notified.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who has information, including surveillance video about the investigation is asked to call 911. To remain anonymous, call 561-STOP.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story inaccurately said Jenna DelKittie died Sunday morning, not Saturday morning.
