The 52nd Alaska Federation of Natives Convention kicks off Thursday at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage.

Thursday, Oct. 18

  • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Convention Day 1
  • 7 p.m. – 11 p.m., Quyana performances

Friday, Oct. 19

  • 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Convention Day 2
  • 7 p.m. – 11 p.m., Quyana performances

Saturday, Oct. 20

  • 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Convention Day 3

Live coverage of the events can be heard in Anchorage on KNBA 90.3FM. 

The AFN Convention is the largest representative gathering of any Native peoples in the country. This year's theme is "Innovation in the Past, Present and Future."

State and federal officials, including Gov. Bill Walker, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Don Young will give addresses throughout the gathering. The keynote speaker is Lt. Gov. Valerie Davidson.
