Anchorage man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants
Anchorage police are asking for the public's help to find a man who is wanted on multiple warrants.
Police say 22-year-old Noah A. Murphy is wanted on multiple charges including assault, operating under the influence of drugs and eluding.
Murphy's first warrant was issued when he was spotted driving a Jeep at the intersection of 5th Avenue and C Street on Aug. 23 when ran a red light and crashed into an Audi, police wrote in a statement. The driver of the Audi was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A field sobriety test and blood that was drawn showed he was too impaired to drive, police said. Charges were forwarded to the district attorney's office pending those results. A felony warrant for assault in the third degree and operating under the influence was obtained for his arrest on Sept. 12.
On Tuesday, an officer attempted to pull over a Chevy pickup at East 5th Avenue and Hyder Street after it was seen running a red light.
"A computer check revealed the vehicle was associated with Murphy who had an outstanding felony warrant," police wrote.
After the officer identified Murphy by his ID, the officer asked him to exit the vehicle as he was under arrest for his warrant, however, Murphy refused and sped off in the vehicle, police said.
Police then issued a warrant for eluding.
Murphy is described to be a 6-foot-3-inch male around 160 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
