Anchorage homicide suspect arrested in Michigan
Anchorage homicide detectives say Linda Richards, 49, fled Alaska and was located Thursday morning in East Point, Michigan hiding in a home. She was taken into custody and transported to Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, according to a release.
Detectives will be working with Michigan law enforcement for her extradition back to Alaska.
On Sept. 14 detectives determined Richards was a suspect connected to the January shooting of a man at an Anchorage trailer park earlier this year, according to police.
According to a statement from APD, Richards, is a suspect in the death of 52-year old Carl R. Bowie Jr., who was shot on Jan. 28 at the Penguin Trailer Court, off Spenard Road near 36th Avenue.
Richards faces charges of murder in the second-degree, kidnapping and robbery in the first-degree.
Police say, Austin Cottrell, 18, was also a suspect in this investigation and was located at the Anchorage Jail on an unrelated investigation. He is facing additional charges including murder in the second-degree, kidnapping and robbery in the second-degree.
The investigation is ongoing.
