A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon on the Mat-Su’s Knik-Goose Bay Road, with few details on the collision immediately available from Alaska State Troopers.

The crash, which also involved an SUV, was first reported at about 2:45 p.m. near KGB’s intersection with Settlers Bay Drive according to an online dispatch.

“The driver of the motorcycle was declared deceased,” troopers wrote. “Next of kin notification is underway. Traffic is currently being diverted.”

The crash is KGB’s second this week to claim the life of a motorcyclist. Wasilla passenger Jayme Donoho, 32, was killed and three other people injured Tuesday when the motorcycle she was riding struck a Jeep Compass SUV that was pulling out into traffic on Commodore Lane.
