A Sterling man is facing multiple charges after Alaska State Troopers say he stole a business vehicle and led officers on a chase last week.

Around 6:31 p.m. on Wednesday, troopers received a call about a suspicious man who was trying to get inside vehicles parked at a business on the Kenai Spur Highway, according to an online dispatch. Shortly after, the man, who troopers later identified as Lamar Miller, drove off in one of the vehicles.

Soldotna police spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop Miller, but he took off.

"The vehicle failed to stop," troopers wrote. "Soldotna Police pursued the vehicle north on the sterling highway (sic).  At approximately mile 91 mile, city limits of Soldotna, Soldotna Police terminated their pursuit."

Troopers eventually caught up to the vehicle on the Serling Highway and arrested Miller after he turned down a trail and stopped, according to AST.

Miller was taken to Wildwood Pretrial and charged with first-degree vehicle theft, DUI for suspicion of drugs, failure to stop and reckless driving.
