Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in multiple arrests, charges
Alaska State Troopers say two Fairbanks men, who were spotted in a stolen vehicle, were arrested following a pursuit early Sunday morning.
According to troopers online dispatch, just before 3 a.m., 29-year-old Kenny Burks failed to yield to the right of way of an emergency vehicle. When Fairbanks troopers tried to stop the vehicle, Burks sped off.
"Investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen," troopers wrote. "The stolen vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed, starting an approximate 26 mile pursuit. Once the vehicle came to a stop, both the driver and passenger foot bailed."
Troopers caught up to them and arrested Burks for vehicle theft in the first-degree, fail to stop at the direction of a peace officer in the first-degree and criminal mischief in the third-degree. The passenger, 30-year-old Scott Csucsai, was arrested for criminal mischief in the fifth-degree.
