APD names motorcyclist killed in Muldoon crash
An Anchorage man driving a motorcycle died late Wednesday in a Muldoon collision, according to police.
APD spokesman MJ Thim said Friday that 41-year-old Timothy Bennett was the motorcyclist killed in the collision. No word was available on charges in the crash, he said, because it remained under investigation.
Word of the wreck, on Boundary Avenue near Turpin Street, first came in just before 10 p.m. Wednesday according to a police statement. APD first described the crash as an injury collision, but later said responding officers found the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
“It's believed the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Boundary Avenue when the driver lost control, crossed the center line and struck a convertible traveling westbound,” police wrote. “No one else was injured. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet.”
Police closed Boundary in the area for several hours during their investigation.
