The 4th Annual Clothesline Project is now accepting donations for boys and girls clothing in all sizes.

"Mostly we need right now, new and gently used clothing," said Angie Fraize, president of Anchorage Cops for Community. "Of course boots and shoes and jackets are great."

Fraize says they need a lot of clothes for boys and girls from kindergarten all the way to adult sizes.

"I have to be honest, we're a little worried about the amount of clothes so far," she added.

The project provides clothes, shoes and backpacks to kids and families who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford new school clothes and supplies.

"We've served hundreds, if not thousands of families in the last three years," Fraize said. "I think it's huge, setting them up for success, even confidence, going back knowing they have something new."

You can drop off donations from now until Aug. 1 at the lobby of Anchorage Police Department headquarters, at 4501 Elmore Rd. on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you need school clothes for the new year, head to the Tikahtnu Commons on August 4 near the Old Navy store. You can pick-up clothes from 10 am-3pm.
