A man is charged with assault after biting and pulling a knife on a good Samaritan during a robbery last week.

Charging documents say Brian Faulkner, 36, set off alarms June 24 when he ran out of the Home Depot store on Abbott Road carrying more than $250 worth of Dewalt tools.

Shopper David Brockman ran after Faulkner and stopped him at his vehicle, but Faulkner pulled out a knife, the documents show.

Brockman was able to wrestle the knife from Faulkner, who, according to charging documents, bit Brockman.

Home Depot employees had Faulkner detained by the time police arrived.

Faulkner is charged with robbery, theft and two counts of assault.
