Alaska State Troopers say a Soldotna man faces attempted murder charges after attacking a family member with a sword Monday afternoon.
Around 1 o'clock, troopers responded to a residence located off Mile 94 of the Sterling Highway after a report of a male who had been struck by a sword, according to AST's online dispatch.
Troopers say Darrell Joseph Moore, 25, "used a sword to strike a family member with intent to kill, and strangled the male, both of which caused fear of death."
Moore was arrested on multiple charges including assault and attempted murder in the first-degree.
He is being held at Wildwood pretrial without bail.
