Troopers: $56K worth of heroin seized in Southeast Alaska
Alaska State Troopers say with the help of police, they were able to bust a Southeast home that had over $56,000 worth of heroin inside.
Gae Yates, 58, of Klawock, and Armetta Barden, 60, of Seattle Washington were arrested Saturday night after Prince of Wales State Troopers, Craig and Klawock Police Departments served a search warrant for the residence at 470 Summit Street in Klawock and found heroin inside, according to AST's online dispatch.
"Over 56 grams of heroin, which had an estimated street value of over $56,000, multiple digital scales, electronics and cash was seized from the residence," troopers wrote.
Yates and Barden were charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree. Troopers say more charges are anticipated.
