APD: Man fired into neighbor’s apartment during argument
A 45-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after Anchorage Police say he fired a gun into an adjacent apartment with people inside during a marital dispute.
George Lockwood, 45, is charged with three counts each of third-degree assault and reckless endangerment, two counts of fourth-degree misconduct with a weapon and a single count of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Officers had responded at about 11:45 p.m. to the 5600 block of Alora Loop, off East 4th Avenue near Boniface Parkway, where Lockwood had allegedly been arguing with his wife before “he pointed a gun at her head and threatened her life”.
Police say Lockwood fired the gun multiple times at a bedroom wall, which protruded into another apartment-- which was occupied.
Two children were inside Lockwood's residence at the time of the shooting, police say.
Officers report that Lockwood was drunk, finding his blood alcohol content to be twice Alaska's legal driving limit of 0.08.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
Lockwood was booked into the Anchorage Jail. He was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
