A man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend to death in Mountain View Thursday has a personal link to one of Anchorage's highest-profile homicide investigations in recent years, prosecutors confirmed Friday.

Anchorage District Attorney Rick Allen said that Mickee Thompson, 19, is the brother of 21-year-old Treyveon Thompson who was shot to death Aug. 4, 2016, near Duben Street and Bolin Avenue. Last year, police said Treyveon Thompson was one of five people slain by serial killer James Dale Ritchie, who was killed during a shootout in which he wounded APD officer Arn Salao.

On Friday afternoon, APD spokesman MJ Thim said the suspects remained armed and dangerous, although investigators consider the shooting an isolated incident. Police had found the SUV but declined to say what item placed inside it the charging documents referred to.

"We have an idea of what that item may be, but that's still part of the investigation," Thim said. "We have the Chevy Tahoe, we've taken that in; it's been impounded as part of evidence."

In addition to the suspects, police are asking anyone with surveillance video of the area from Thursday morning at the time of the shooting to come forward.
