Saturday is the last day of March, which means it's also the last day of Women's History Month. Recognizing women's contributions to Alaska's history has been the mission of the Alaska Women's Hall of Fame for the last 10 years.

But the Hall of Fame doesn't physically exist -- it's a website.

Jane Angvik, a former Anchorage Charter Commission and Anchorage Assembly member who now sits on the Hall of Fame's board, says that's for a good reason.

"The intention is to be able to make sure that everyone has access to the Hall of Fame, so the international web provided a greater access to everyone in every community," Angvik explained. "We also honor people from all communities in Alaska. So someone who lives in Tuntutuliak or Homer or Seldovia has more opportunity to be able to see it, than if it's on a particular wall in a particular community."

Angvik is also a former Hall of Fame inductee herself.
