Another Alaska location of Blockbuster Video is closing its doors.

The South Anchorage store on Huffman Road is set to close its retail business on Sunday. The company will hold a sale, starting Tuesday and continuing through the rest of April, to sell everything in the store.

"We regret to inform you that our Huffman store will be closing," Blockbuster Alaska staff wrote on the company's Facebook page. "Thank you SO VERY much South Anchorage for your years of support."

Several Blockbuster stores in Alaska have closed in the few months, and some in Anchorage say they'll miss this one.

"We're sad to see it go," said Blockbuster renter Randy Armstrong. "It's been a part of our every-other-weekend routine."

"Growing up, there used to be so many video stores from back in the day when they had VHS," said Shannon Foland, another renter. "They're kind of a dying dinosaur that we don't see any more."

Staff at Blockbuster stores on DeBarr Road in Anchorage, as well as Fairbanks and Soldotna, said they had no plans to close those locations.

Other Blockbusters in Alaska have closed last July in Eagle River and in January in Wasilla, with a North Pole store near Fairbanks beginning to close earlier this month.
