Three people have been taken into custody after Anchorage Police say they were found riding in a vehicle that was reported stolen.

According to APD spokesperson Renee Oistad, at 10:53 a.m. on Saturday, police received a call about a 2006 silver GMC Sierra that was reported stolen from a hotel parking lot on Rodeo Place. A check on a GPS tracker showed the Sierra was driving in the Mountain View area.

"At 12:30 PM officers attempted a traffic stop on the Sierra in the area of Peterkin and Schodde," Oistad wrote in a Nixle alert on Wednesday. "The Sierra did not stop, but continued driving. It struck an unoccupied parked vehicle on Peterkin; the Sierra continued down the roadway."

Oistad said officers used their patrol cars to block the Sierra in at Schodde Street and Meyer Street.

Inside the vehicle was 23-year-old Justin P. Larson, who had an outstanding warrant, and two passengers, 26-year-old Margaret E. Wetherington and 19-year-old Shania R. Agli. Police say they also found a handgun wedged next to the driver's seat. During a pat down, meth was found on Larson.

He was arrested and charged with vehicle theft, eluding, misconduct involving a controlled substance, two counts of misconduct involving a weapon, leaving the scene of an accident, assault, driving a vehicle on a revoked/canceled/suspended license and criminal mischief.

Since both Wetherington and Agli were riding in a stolen vehicle, they were charged with criminal mischief. Agli was remanded at the Anchorage jail for violating conditions of release, Oistad said.
