I grew up on a dairy farm along a dirt road in central Minnesota. When wasn't working, I was playing sports with kids in the neighborhood. That led to sports in high school and junior college. I graduated from Brown College in Mendota Heights, Minnesota in February of 1998 with an AAS degree in Radio / Television Broadcasting while also earning a sports play by play certificate. I started in radio at a small AM station in Hastings, Minnesota behind the mic calling high school sporting events. I climbed the ladder and filled in as the station's news director before settling in as the station's sports director. From there I worked in radio in Iowa for two years before heading North to B L Broadcasting in Brainerd, Minnesota.

In February of 2012, I enrolled at St. Cloud State University to pursue my Bachelor's degree. While at SCSU I became the sports director for the on campus radio station 88.1 FM KVSC. I was the station's lead voice for the SCSU men's hockey team that advanced to the program's first and only appearance in a Frozen Four. I traveled with the team to Pittsburgh, PA and called the game at the Consol Energy Center. I also traveled and called SCSU football games including their legendary run to the DII Quarterfinal game in Marytown , MO. versus Northwest Missouri State.

I graduated with my BA from SCSU in May of 2014 with a double major in Mass Communications and Communication Studies. From there my path took an interesting twist and I owe that to working with UTVS, KVSC and Husky Productions at SCSU. I switched gears to Television and was the lead anchor at KOTA-TV in Rapid City, South Dakota. I also worked at KDLT-TV in Sioux Falls before coming to KTVA.

While I love sports and all my Minnesota teams, (especially the Minnesota Vikings & St. Cloud State University teams) I love telling and sharing your stories. I enjoy being a part of the community and sharing stories no one else does. I am excited to be a part of the KTVA team and blessed to have my family move to the Anchorage area with me. Along with my wife Sheri, we have a blended family of five children and make our home in Eagle River.
