APD arrests 11 in New Year's DUI campaign
Nearly a dozen people were booked into jail in Anchorage over the New Year's holiday for operating under the influence.
Anchorage Police say they conducted 39 traffic stops between December 29 and 31. Of those stops, 25 citations were issued and 11 arrests were made for operating under the influence.
APD spokesperson Renee Oistad says officers also responded to seven REDDI reports (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately).
The extra enforcement effort was made possible by funding from the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities' Alaska Highway Safety Office.
