Nearly half a dozen vehicles were involved in a Midtown pile-up wreck Friday morning, according to Anchorage police, but only one person suffered minor injuries.

Police spokesman MJ Thim said reports of the crash, in the eastbound lanes of Tudor Road at its intersection with C Street, came in at about 8:50 a.m.

“It was five vehicles,” Thim said. “It was a chain-reaction collision where a Jeep hit a truck, and that truck hit a vehicle, and that vehicle ended up hitting another vehicle and that vehicle hit another vehicle.”

Driver Amanda Hasara, who was stopped in traffic on Tudor soon afterward, posted a photo of the chaotic crash site on Facebook as medics responded.

“Everybody was scattered everywhere on the road when I got there,” Hasara said.

The wreck caused some lane closures, according to Thim, but the intersection was fully cleared by 11 a.m.

No charges or citations have been issued in the collision, as police investigate factors in the crash such as whether traffic on Tudor had a green light at the time.
