At his desk or on the mat, Palmer's Farris excels
Whether it's juggling athletics and studies or on the wrestling mat, Levi Farris has great balance.
The Palmer High School junior, KTVA's Scholar-Athlete of the Week, is looking to make a return to the podium this year -- but in a different weight class. Last year as a state champion he won the title at 152 pounds. This year he's made the jump to 170.
Farris has been wrestling for so long, since the fifth grade, that it's become part of his routine.
"I don't know if you can really like wrestling, but it's something once you start, you're definitely into it for a long time," Farris said.
Despite his time on the mat, education still holds the top spot for Farris.
"Hopefully, I get a good scholarship to a nice school, maybe wrestle, maybe keep progressing, eventually have a nice future, good job," he said.
With a 3.9 GPA and a wrestling championship under his belt as a sophomore, Farris has this figured out.
