There is a front sweeping across the Aleutians this weekend. The strong storm system will bring hurricane-force winds to the central and eastern islands with frequent gusts up to 100 mph. Seas from 40 to 50 feet are also likely over much of the North Pacific and southern Bering Sea.

In Southcentral Alaska, the weather is mostly quiet. Expect lots of sunshine Saturday, but as the winds calm down the temperature will fall. Overnight temps will likely dip below zero degrees in parts of the Anchorage Bowl. On Sunday clouds increase, and there is a chance for snow between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The western Prince William Sound is seeing the perfect mix of increasing upslope flow and low-level moisture. The combination will lead to steady snow Saturday through Sunday night.
