The Dimond Lynx are celebrating -- but they're used to it.

On Saturday, the team outlasted a game against the Bartlett squad, to claim a third straight 4A volleyball crown. The match mirrored their season -- as they found a way -- even during the tough times.

They finished third in the Region IV tournament, barely qualifying for the ASAA state tournament. Once the ticket was punched, the Lynx rolled to the championship game unscathed.

Dimond faced CIC champion Bartlett, who hadn't reached a state title game since 2002. Dimond took the first two sets. Bartlett stormed back in effort to force the "if necessary" game, but the Lynx dominated the fifth set to win 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 21-25, 15-4.

Summer Zelinsky, Reilly Plumhoff, Rikki Johnson, Danae Stokes, and Hahni Johnson sat down with John Thompson to discuss the 2017 prep volleyball season that culminated in a Dimond Lynx state title.
