Juneau hot tub body identified as missing woman
A body found in a Juneau hot tub earlier this week has been identified as that of a woman reported missing earlier this month, police in Alaska’s capital said Thursday.
Alexis Ehlers, 28, was the woman discovered in a covered outdoor hot tub behind a Muir Street home, according to a police statement. The homeowner reported the discovery in a neighborhood near Juneau International Airport at about 9 a.m. Monday.
Juneau Police say they do not suspect foul play in Ehlers’ death, and say the investigation is ongoing and autopsy results are expected in four- to six-weeks.
Police had put out a missing-persons bulletin last Thursday for Ehlers, who was reportedly “distraught over personal issues and walked away from a very minor vehicle collision” on August 13 before officers arrived at the scene. She hadn’t contacted her family since.
