Two intersections on West Dimond Boulevard will be closed for much of July and part of August while crews complete construction on two roundabouts, the Anchorage Police Department announced Monday.

The intersections with Westpark Drive and Sand Lake Road will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on July 5. The Sand Lake Road intersection is expected to reopen on Aug. 2, while the Westpark Drive intersection will reopen on Aug. 16.

“Area access will be permitted via Raspberry Road and Sand Lake Road,” police wrote. “Traffic will not be permitted through the work zones. Please follow construction signs for detour routes.”

Police said Dimond Boulevard between the two intersections has been closed since May when Phase 1 of the project began and will remain closed “indefinitely.”
