A number of nonprofit groups have come together to provide holiday foods and presents for Southcentral Alaskans. Known as the Neighborhood Gift, the event is similar to the annual Thanksgiving Blessing.

The event for Anchorage residents will be held at the Sullivan Arena. St. Andrew Catholic Church, located at 16300 Domain Lane in Eagle River, is hosting the event for Eagle River and Chugiak residents.

All that is required is proof of address for food and documentation of all children in your household. Proof of address can include a valid ID or driver’s license or mail with your name and current address.

For documentation regarding your children, the Neighborhood Gift sponsors say birth certificates, school IDs, report cards or health insurance cards are accepted. The group also noted that there will be no childcare on site, so parents should “please make arrangements to leave your children with a trusted caregiver,” according to the event flier. One gift is available for each child ages 14 or younger.
