Multiple roads closed throughout Anchorage as police respond to crashes
Friday was a busy night for the Anchorage Police Department, which has closed numerous roadways throughout the city for vehicle collisions.
Police notified the public about the first reported crash of the evening at 6:17 p.m. The collision closed the eastbound lanes of Northern Light Boulevard at the intersection of Muldoon Road.
A little more than two hours later, APD released information of a closure of an on-ramp for the Seward Highway. The northbound ramp for the highway at Dimond Boulevard was blocked.
Police stated less than an hour later that all northbound traffic would be forced to exit at Dimond Boulevard.
Across town, police closed the westbound lanes of 15th Avenue at Gambell Street for another collision.
APD is advising all drivers to use caution.
KTVA meteorologist Carlos Faura said drivers can expect areas of patchy freezing fog, dense at times, in Anchorage Friday night and through Saturday morning.
