APD identifies 17-year-old shot to death in Government Hill

A 17-year-old teenager died Saturday after he was shot in the back in Government Hill, Anchorage police said. On Monday, Anchorage Police Department Lt. John McKinnon identified the deceased as Jesus Oropeza.
The victim was found unresponsive in the roadway on the 700 block of Birch Street just after midnight, police said in a statement.
The teen was taken to a nearby hospital, but he was later declared dead as a result of his wounds, according to police.
His murder was caught on camera, but no one has been arrested, McKinnon said. Two persons of interest have been named in the case — 18-year-old Sean Robert Samuel Simeonoff and 18-year-old Kenya Damien Jacob Berezkin.
