Bethel woman found dead, police investigating as possible homicide
A Bethel man was arrested Sunday after police believe he was involved in the death of his wife.
Police say around 6:38 a.m. Sunday, they received a report of a female possibly not breathing at the 800 block of Jacobs Way. When officers arrived, they found her unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene. Medics arrived immediately after.
Police identified the female as 46-year-old Marie Beebe Lupie of Bethel. Her next of kin have been notified.
According to a press release, Lupe appeared to have suffered multiple contusions and lacerations and is believed to be the victim of a homicide.
Police say at 2:29 p.m., Lupe’s husband, 39-year-old Jason Joseph, was arrested for murder in the second degree.
The investigation is still ongoing and no other details have been given at this time.
