Which hot dog cart in Anchorage is the best? That depends on who you ask, but some say Yeti Dogs is so good, it deserves national attention.

Yeti Dogs was recently named 2016 Hot Dog Vendor of the Year by Mobile Cuisine Magazine.

Yeti Dogs owner Erica Stimaker said she was shocked just to be nominated. She was up against 10 other competitors from all over the U.S. and Canada.

Stimaker has only been in business for about four years but nonetheless snagged nearly 4,000 votes from loyal fans to win the title.

“It’s rewarding, it really is,” she said. “There’s a lot of hot dog carts in town here and we try really hard to set ourselves apart with different sausages every once in a while, condiments, a different location.”

The Yeti Dogs cart is located every day at Kincaid Park from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., depending on weather. They specialize in unique sausages and have sold alligator, duck and salmon sausage in the past.
